OVERVIEW

In April 2022, the Bill Pickett Memorial Scholarship Fund underwent significant changes to align with its broader community involvement. Consequently, the foundation's name was changed to the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Foundation (BPIRF). For 40 years, the BPIRF has remained committed to rodeo, education, and legacy, introducing new initiatives nationwide, including regional scholarships, community wellness programs, Rodeo for Kidz Sake, and Anti-Violence Venture, aimed at uplifting youth and communities.

BUILDING A LEGACY

Black Cowboys and Cowgirls have played a significant role in the rich history of the Wild West and American West, with historians estimating that one in four cowboys were black. The mystique and fascination surrounding Black Cowboy and Cowgirl culture attract audiences nationwide. Through storytelling and accomplishment, the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo and BPIRF aim to preserve legacies and inspire current and future generations. Our mission, vision, and values underscore our dedication to supporting diverse communities:

• Advance value-driven philanthropy by providing resources and opportunities to underserved communities.
• Support for the communities we serve, guided by the values of generosity, kindness, compassion, empathy, equity, inclusion, diversity, openness, and understanding through collaborations and partnerships.
